Aggression Support

Does your dog growl, snap, bite or lunge at other dogs or people?

I’m here to help change this and take away the stress.

Areas covered: Oldham, Saddleworth, Rochdale, Bury & all of Greater Manchester

It can be very concerning when you have a dog that bites or shows aggression to dogs and people…

Does your dog ever growl, snap or show signs of aggression in certain situations? Perhaps when someone approaches or tries to touch them, when they have something valuable like food or a toy, or even towards another dog in the home? Do you sometimes feel like you’re walking on eggshells, unsure of how your dog may react from one moment to the next?

If you wish your dog could remain calm and relaxed, so that you, family members or other pets can live harmoniously, safely and confidently together, you’re in the right place!

The journey to changing behaviour and helping you and your dog feel happier starts here.

How I work

I use ethical, reward-based training to get to the root of your dog’s behaviour and create lasting change. Sessions are 1:1 and take place both in your home and out in the real world, such as on walks or at the park - wherever your dog most needs support.

My approach is calm, collaborative and rooted in empathy. I always consider both your dog’s and your emotional wellbeing, because learning only happens when everyone feels safe and supported.

We’ll work closely as a team to build your confidence, reduce stress and make progress that you can sustain long after our sessions end. I don’t just train dogs; I support the humans at the other end of the lead too, so that life gets better for both of you.

Let’s do this together!

“We are now in a much happier place”

Our two dachshund brothers were constantly attacking each other and ourselves trying to separate them, we are now in a much happier place, they walk together, kiss each other when walking and sniff and play together.

We still have a small issue when they are both in the same room at home but are definitely improving. Roxanne has been totally professional, very knowledgeable has given us some wonderful training tips and has always been there when we have felt desperate.

We can not praise her enough and both our boys Horace and Humphrey were so relaxed in her company and listening to her talk.

I would definitely recommend her for anybody having doggie issues

“His behaviour…has massively improved”

We have seen such a huge change in the behaviour of our dog, who was described (unfairly!) by another trainer we consulted as 'very dangerous'.

Roxanne has helped us to understand his aggression; to control it effectively; and to bring out the sweet dog that we knew was always there.

His behaviour at the window and on walks has massively improved - we can even walk him into the vets!

Thanks Roxanne for the change you have brought to his life and to ours!

“We have found vast improvements in our dog’s behaviour”

Roxanne has been great over the last few months. She has really helped us with improving how we manage Mabel our cocker spaniel and our 18 month old baby as well as helping with resource guarding and separation anxiety when we leave the house.

We have found vast improvements in our dogs behaviour and the relationship we have with her.

We’d highly recommend giving her a call if you’re struggling with your dog.

FAQs

If you have a question that’s not answered here, please feel free to book a call.

  • Please check my calendar to see available dates and time slots. You can do this by selecting the button under the package - my calendar will be the first thing to pop up.

Please note that my hours are weekday, daytime. I do not work evenings or weekends.

  • All accredited dog behaviour professionals should be working on vet referral only.

This means that there is a collaborative approach between myself, the vet and the client to ensure that the dog is being looked after holistically. Many behavioural issues can be linked with health issues, and so it is important to be able to liaise with your vet should the need arise.

You will need to forward a document (emailed to you once booked on) to your vet for them to sign and return to me - a simple process!

  • I cover all of Greater Manchester including Oldham, Saddleworth, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton,Tameside, Stockport etc.

However if you live slightly outside of Greater Manchester please get in touch and we can discuss whether I can visit your area or not.

  • As dogs have individual needs, learn at different rates, and live in different environments a difinitive timeline cannot be given.

However, often real behaviour change tends to happen over a course of months rather than weeks or years. Often clients will notice small glimmers of change within a few weeks.

  • Don’t worry. I can often provide additional follow-up sessions. We can discuss this as we work through your plan and decide on the best way forward if you want more.

  • There are no guarantees about future behaviour as each dog is an individual with different needs and motivations.

Behaviour change also depends upon the environment, the skill of the handler (I will help you with this), and how much time you are prepared to put into training your dog.

However, I have successfully trained hundreds of dogs with a range of different behavioural needs, so you can rest assured that you are in good hands!

  • Don’t worry - this is quite common. Just pick the option that is the biggest priority for you and get in touch to discuss. We can add on extra follow-up sessions if necessary.

  • This can vary on a case by case basis. However, I usually recommend 2-3 weeks between sessions to give you the time to implement changes and progress the training.

As things progress and it is possible to leave a little longer between sessions, or to use one of your online catch up sessions.

  • That’s ok! As long as you give me 24hrs notice I can reschedule your appointment.

Any appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice cannot be rolled over and used unfortunately.

  • Please contact me to discuss and I will see if I can accomodate you. This however is not guaranteed.

Ideally all sessions need to be used within 2 months from the first appointment for the Essentials package and 4 months from the first appointment for the Premium package.
